They were really hard and tough feeling. I expected them to be soft and a little floppy, not stiff and hard. I was confused as to how infusing a gummy with CBD oil could result in a tough consistency, but I was still open to trying them. The toughness of the gummy was not enjoyable, but the sugary coating was.

As I began to chew and the gummy began to liquify, things got weird. The flavor on the inside was not very enjoyable. It tasted like it had something unnatural in it. It has a similar flavor as that. The initial enjoyment from the sugary coating dissipated fast. On the side of my mouth where I chewed the gummy, it felt like there was a coating on my teeth and cheek. The feeling was strange and felt chemically.

After the gummy kicked in, I started feeling weird. I began to feel sluggish and found myself wanting to take a nap. This was the opposite of how CBD usually makes me feel. When I take my normal CBD edibles , I usually feel more alert, less anxious, and find it easier to focus. Then just a short while later, a slight headache came over me. It just felt like my head was uncomfortable or irritable. Just talking about it is making me relive the feelings, ugh.

Inducing drowsiness and giving me headaches is not really what I look for in CBD products. But I was still open to them working, so I gave one to my wife. She felt similar effects, minus the headache. She found herself wanting to take a nap and having trouble focusing.

I was really confused as to how CBD could cause these effects, so I did something I should have done before trying them. I read the ingredients. These gummies had a lot of weird ingredients, but one stood out to me as super odd, melatonin. My wife and I have never taken melatonin before, or at least not knowingly. Melatonin has many known side effects, not surprisingly, headaches and sleepiness are on the list of side effects on WebMD.

Now things began to make more sense. These gummies had hardly any CBD so they added other chemicals to get people to feel something. And of course, not everyone will get headache.

I did not think that was a very ethical thing to do, but I also blame myself for being an ignorant consumer. All that glitters is not gold. Lesson learned. I just had the same experience.
